Returning home is a long and hard journey for each of the students studying overseas, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have faced the sudden changes in the travel plan, the suffocative experiences on the flight, the endless waiting for the virus tests as well as the 14-days forced quarantine before finally could come home. About
The Project
We are a group of students who studying International Journalism at the BNU-HKBU United International College.
During the coronavirus pandemic, we had witnessed the struggles and dilemmas of a special group of students-- the students who study overseas. Sadly they are facing a huge misunderstanding by the pubic opinions, being criticised for laying burdens to their home countries.
Nevertheless, the severe epidemic in the countries they study in is forcing students to seize each opportunity to return home.
Hence, the two executive reporters in our group decided to launch this project documenting the true stories of those students who studied abroad returning home. We are using a special angle from our student journalists to present the whole journey of returned student, calling for a better understanding of this special group after reading our stories.
